Cedrick Collomb has a handy utility called Unlocker which will tell you which processes are preventing you from deleting a file or folder.
If a delete fails, you get the generic access denied error message from Windows; however, if you have Unlocker installed, then it will popup and display the processes which have a lock on [...]

100 oldest domain names
Came across this interesting post by “some dude from Orlando” which lists the 100 oldest domain names.
Notable omission is microsoft.com, which wasn’t registered until 1991. It wasn’t until 1995 that Microsoft acknowledged that the Internet was not just a passing fad, and scrapped the soon to be released “Microsoft Network”, its very own version of [...]

Looking for undo & redo in the new Office 2007 ribbon?
It ain’t in the ribbon, it is in the quick access toolbar. But hey didn’t the ribbon replace toolbars!

I know this will typically limit [...]

Microsoft Office 2007 introduces a whole lot of new features – revamped UI, new file formats etc. However, one thing is missing, which is support for the Outlook protocol (outlook://).
Developers wanting to open emails from other applications could use the Outlook protocol to get Microsoft Outlook to display them. For example, outlook:00000000AEB50BC0928BD511A2700000E8D73A91C4A56101.
This is all well for [...]

Microsoft has released a developer toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer which may be useful to SEO folk for ad-hoc analysis of individual pages.
For example, it allows the details of the commonly used description and keywords meta tags without having to troll through the raw html source code.
Tooltips are used to allow the all of the [...]
